"We're by far the greatest team; the world has ever seen." Everybody sings it. But only one team can declare it to be true.
Selecting the top football club globally is an almost
impossible task that is a surefire source of outrage when certain teams are
left out despite their success in the eighth division of Spanish football.
However, we're willing to take a chance anyway.
When deciding the best teams in the world of football in
2023, it's crucial to set the rules of the game and the requirements for being
included in this list of legends.

We'll first take the long-term view. Sure, you beat the
league leaders last week, but that doesn't automatically lift them to the upper
levels of football in the world.
The form is a temporary thing; class is permanent. The best
example of this is Liverpool. A poor 2022/23 season should not cause them to
fall out from the top five football teams in the world for being substituted by
Brighton, Brentford or Fulham, although they've suffered a setback compared to
the last season's rankings.
Furthermore, trophy awards are significant; however, they're
not the only thing that matters. Bayern Munich may be the undisputed champions
in Germany, and PSG could be ruling France. However, both have a clearer path
to their respective titles than their Premier League and La Liga opponents,
meaning European performance is a factor in the picture.
We've tried to find the right balance between past
successes, this season's results, and signs of the future's trajectory to form
our top five. We are sure you won't like it; however, who do you consider to be
our No.1?
5. PSG
The fact that PSG has won eight Ligue 1 titles and 21
domestic trophy trophies in the cup since 2013 speaks of PSG's dominance in the
domestic league. No team has dominated their country in the top local league
for as long as PSG has over the past decade.
Three fantasy soccer stars, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and
Neymar, continue to mock the status of the French top flight. However, that's
not where our praise for PSG must end. But, with the money invested in PSG, the
box office management, and players who've made Parc des Princes home, PSG's
return to continental football is not up to par.
In the past decade, which has been a glitzy one, PSG has
failed to make it to the semifinals of the Champions League in eight of 10
seasons, and their journey to the final of 2020 included fairly favorable
games with Atalanta in addition to RB Leipzig. If they're not consistently able
to crack into the top four in Europe and beyond, they shouldn't be expected to
reach our top four.
4. Liverpool
Liverpool is a team to keep an eye on rankings in 2023 as
the year progresses. There's no doubt about it. The Reds have endured a
miserable season to date. But this doesn't mean we should dismiss their chances
of making it to the top list just yet.
Jurgen Klopp is still an outstanding manager. Crucial
injuries have plagued their squad, and the season is not yet over, but there is
the potential for further growth before May.
Liverpool have made it to the three Champions League finals
in five years. They also won the Premier League in 2020 and finished second in
two of the finals around the time. They also took home the FA Cup and Carabao
Cup in the last season. They also won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Reds are
uncertain; however, their current performance should not completely undermine
their standing at the top. Yet.
3. Bayern Munich
An unbroken streak of 10 consecutive Bundesliga titles has
confirmed Bayern Munich as the undisputed dominating power in Germany.
Dortmund, as well as RB Leipzig, have tried but did not make an impact.
Many argue, such as PSG, that the league's weakness should
be considered against their performance, but this is the point at which
Champions League performance must be considered in determining their strengths.
Bayern have made it to the semifinals in eight of their last
13 seasons, including two wins and four finals. They have reached knockout
rounds in the 13 seasons and have only lost twice in rounds of 16. The true
heavyweight of continental origin.

2. Manchester City
It's difficult to talk about Manchester City's success of
the past decade without addressing Premier League charges that accuse the club
of violations of financial rules. The club has strongly denied any wrongdoing,
and the controversy will continue for months and possibly years, but for now,
we'll focus on their performance on the field.
City has taken home four of the five Premier League titles
and is in the race to win another title in 2022/23. They have the top coach in
the world of football, Pep Guardiola, and some of the best athletes in the
world, like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
The City team hasn't always gone their way in 2022/23.
However, we expect them to perform at the same high level that even the
smallest fluctuations in performance are viewed as massive problems. The City
is the leading team in one of the world's biggest, most profitable and
top-quality leagues, constantly changing their style to ensure they remain at
the top of the pile for years. Top for many years to the future.
The only thing you can beat City with is the absence of an
official Champions League trophy in the cabinet, even though they have made
significant progress in this regard with their back-to-back semifinals. We have
not weighed our opinion regarding City in this aspect of the Champions League
due to the power of their Premier League and their clear dominance over it.
1. Real Madrid
Spanish bigwigs Real Madrid remains the toughest draw in
European football after winning it four times last year. In perspective, just
six teams have claimed more than four trophies since the first European Cup was
introduced in 1956.
The reliable and prolific goalscorer Karim Benzema is the
current Ballon d'Or winner. Luka Modric is still a formidable force in the
midfield area, but Modric's involvement is waning as well. David Alaba may be
the most formidable defensive player in this world. Young players like Vinicius
Jr., Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni will be key to Real Madrid's
success for a long time.
They're a step in the middle of Barcelona in their title
battle; however, this shouldn't detract from the club's place as the top team
in European football. A shocking collapse or City winning the European award
back to Etihad could take them off the top.
