Use a good antivirus on your device
Viruses can enter the device anytime. Detecting and removing viruses
manually is difficult. To prevent your device from a virus attack; use a good
antivirus program. Antivirus plans are available for all types of devices. Most
antiviruses are paid but there are also a few programs that are free to use.
Get a good antivirus program for your device and run a scan. If your McAfeescan stuck then restart the device. Now open the dashboard of your
antivirus and run the scan. An antivirus scan will remove all hidden viruses
from the device.
Get a real-time protection tool
Malware-like viruses enter the device from a file, internet, flashdrive, etc. You can’t run a scan whenever you open a file. If a virus enters,
it can cause lots of damage before you run the scan. To prevent this, you
should get a real-time protection tool. This protection tool runs in the
background. Whenever you open a file, this tool will scan it before loading. If
the file carries any malware, it will remove it before opening. Real-time
protection tool is good when you often use your device.
Use a firewall
The internet is the open gateway for viruses. If your device is
connected to the internet, it becomes vulnerable to threats. To protect your
device and network, you need a good firewall. Most devices have an inbuilt
firewall. A firewall is a tool that monitors your traffic on the network. It
actively checks all the incoming data packets. If any data packets carry
suspicious data, the firewall immediately blocks them. It prevents malware from
entering your device. Some firewalls also check the outgoing traffic on the
firewall. If any data is traveling outside the device without the user's
concern; the firewall blocks it.
Connect the device to a secure connection only
If the personal internet is not working, open networks seem like cotton
candy. People immediately connect their devices to an open network and access
the internet. But not all the public networks are safe. Hackers can easily
spread viruses using open networks. Don’t connect your device to any open
network. When you are traveling abroad, having a personal internet is
difficult. Instead of connecting the device to any open network; talk to the
hotel staff and connect your device to a reliable network.
Don’t connect the personal laptop to other devices
Viruses can easily enter your PC from any device. To protect your PC,
don’t connect it to shared devices. Instead of connecting phones or other
systems to share data, send the data over the network. Use a good firewall that
can filter the traffic on the network. People also use flash drives to share
data. Spreading viruses over flash drives is very common. You should always run
a malware scan before loading the files.
Access only secured sites
If you are surfing the internet, try to access only secured sites.
Whenever you search anything on the internet; you get lots of result pages. Not
all the result pages are safe on the internet. If you click on a malicious
page, viruses enter the device. You should only access the safe pages. But
sometimes, recognizing secure pages on the result page is difficult. You should
use a safe search tool. This tool will show which pages are safe to access.
Using a safe search tool, you can easily secure your device from malware.
Don’t share your device
Trusting people is a good thing. But sometimes, this trust can get you
into problems. Sharing food is good but sharing a PC is wrong. Never share your
PC with anyone. Your friend may cause any mischief activity on the device but
he may not follow the security measures. Due to this, malware can enter the
device. If you have to share the device then create a guest account. Don’t
allow anyone to use the admin account of your device.

Never install third-party apps
People often use third-party apps on their device. Editing and Photoshop apps are using paid. People often use third-party apps to use the tools for free. But nothing is free, you are getting a free app along with viruses. These apps often carry malware such as viruses, worms, adware, etc. Go to the Apps folder and check the installed application list. If you see any third-party app on your device then uninstall it. Remove all the related files and restart your device. You should only install reliable apps on the device.
